Geocaching Tall Tales - Yarns
Geocaching Tall Tales - Yarns is a blog for fellow cachers to share their experiences with Muggles and how they've dealt with the situation.
Share Your Stories
Have you been Geocaching and had a Muggle confront you with a question like "What are you doing?" or "Why are you here?". Well we've heard some tall tales or yarns that seem to work to get them off your back. We would like for you to tastefully share some of the stories you may have told. Keep in mind this is a family activity and you will need to keep it clean. Other Cachers may want to use some of these yarns the next time they encounter an inquisitive Muggle.

They are watching us.
We like this one big time. When confronted with "What are you doing here?" or "What's up?" This is great. "I'm checking satelite signal strength from government satelites. It seems stronger over here, mark this spot and let's see where it takes us." Hello......can you hear me now?

What are you looking for?
A seasoned citizen approached a fellow cacher with the authority of one who thought the park was her private domain.
Oh, we're from the city sign department and we're inspecting this sign. I don't like the condition it's in. They should be out in a couple of weeks to repaint it.
It worked and they found the cache moments later.
